Dhaka, Dec 21 (V7N)- The Election Commission (EC) has extended the deadline for domestic observer organizations to apply for monitoring the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. The new deadline has been set for December 29.

The EC announced the decision in a notification issued on Sunday.

According to the notification, the 13th National Parliament elections and referendum will be held on February 12. Earlier, organizations interested in observing the elections—either on a constituency basis or centrally and locally—were asked to submit applications by December 21.

However, considering requests and applications from election observer organizations, the Election Commission has decided to extend the application period for the deployment of domestic observers by eight more days.

The EC also stated that, upon approval, identity cards and vehicle stickers for central observers will be issued by the Election Commission Secretariat.
