Dhaka, Oct 29 (V7N)- There is no shortage of fertilizer in the country, and prices are normal, ensuring relief for farmers, said Agriculture Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. He made the remarks at a press conference at the Ministry of Agriculture at the Secretariat on Wednesday (October 29) afternoon.

The Advisor added that Aman season production has been good this year, and farmers are receiving favorable prices. He also noted that winter vegetables have started arriving in the market.

Regarding long-term planning, he said the government is preparing a 25-year food grains strategy and intends to introduce a law to protect agricultural land in response to decreasing farmland and a growing population.

Lt. Gen. Chowdhury further stated that a high-level committee has been formed to develop policies for fertilizer dealerships. Licenses will be issued only to eligible dealers, without any political considerations.
