Jhenaidah, Oct 01 (V7N) – Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman has reaffirmed that the national elections will be held in February under the leadership of Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, despite any obstacles that may arise.

Speaking as the chief guest at a view-sharing meeting organized by the Jhenaidah Diabetic Association on Wednesday, the Attorney General said, “The legitimacy of this new government comes from the July mass uprising and the social contract of the people. No matter what obstacles come, the people will resist them.”

He alleged that those who once “held the people hostage” are now conspiring to derail the upcoming elections.

Asaduzzaman further said that with the fall of the “fascist Hasina government,” all constitutional paths had been blocked, but the July Revolution led by students forced Hasina to flee the country. “This victory of the student masses has opened the way for a democratic transition in the country. The people themselves have given legitimacy and authority to this government,” he added.
