New York, Sep 30 (V7N) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres held a meeting with Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to Bangladesh’s interim government, on Monday (local time).

Discussions centered on the upcoming national elections, ongoing reform initiatives, and the Rohingya crisis.

During the meeting, Dr. Yunus briefed the UN chief on the democratic and human rights situation in Bangladesh, as well as the progress of reforms under the interim administration.

Secretary-General Guterres expressed full support and solidarity with Bangladesh’s efforts, assuring the UN’s commitment to the country’s democratic transition.
