Dhaka, Sep 29 (V7N) – British High Commissioner to Dhaka, Sarah Cook, said the UK is committed to helping Bangladesh conduct the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections peacefully, freely, and fairly.

She made the remarks following an hour-long meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin at the Election Building in Agargaon on Monday.

Highlighting the UK’s interest in a free, fair, and impartial election, Sarah Cook said, “We had a fruitful discussion with the Chief Election Commissioner.” She added that support from the UK will focus on civic education and training for polling agents, as announced by Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

The Election Commission (EC) is preparing for the national elections scheduled in the first half of February 2026 and is holding regular consultations with stakeholders, including meetings with ambassadors of various countries.
