Dhaka, Sep 17 (V7N) – Bangladesh will not provide shelter to any additional Rohingya refugees but remains committed to ensuring their safe return to Myanmar, Labor and Employment Advisor Retired Brigadier General Dr. M. Sakhawat Hossain said on Wednesday.

Speaking at a discussion on the Rohingya issue at the CIRDAP auditorium, Dr. Sakhawat expressed hope that repatriation could begin next year. He emphasized that the process would require strong international support, while noting that the interim government was actively pursuing diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis.

Meanwhile, poet and thinker Farhad Mazhar said the Rohingya crisis is not merely an international humanitarian issue but also a political, military, and geopolitical challenge. He urged the international community to play a proactive role in addressing the root causes of the crisis.
