Dhaka, Sep 05 (V7N) – A group of 30 Bangladeshi nationals has been deported from the United States on charges of illegal stay, marking the latest phase of Washington’s intensified deportation drive.
The chartered flight carrying the deportees landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:30 pm on Thursday (Sept 4). Among them, 29 were men and one was a woman.
Airport sources said the deportees were sent back after being found in the US without valid residency status. Upon arrival, none of them agreed to speak to the media.
Since Donald Trump’s re-election as US President, deportation measures targeting undocumented immigrants have been stepped up. So far, 187 Bangladeshis have been deported in three phases, with more expected as part of the broader crackdown affecting citizens from multiple countries.
