Dhaka, July 29 (V7N) — Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam has stated that the trials of most top-level individuals involved in the genocide will be completed by December this year. He made the announcement during a discussion meeting held at the Judicial Training Institute on Tuesday morning.

Tajul Islam emphasized the seriousness and thoroughness of the ongoing trials, clarifying that “Mobile Court and genocide trial are not the same thing.” He assured that the trials are being conducted with due diligence to ensure that no government or international body can question their legitimacy in the future.

Highlighting upcoming proceedings, he mentioned that the first testimony against Sheikh Hasira is scheduled for August 3.

The prosecutor’s remarks underline the commitment of the judicial system to bringing justice for the genocide in a timely and credible manner.
