Dhaka, July 07 (V7N) — The National Consensus Commission (NCC) is working to build national unity on state reforms by prioritizing the views and aspirations of political parties, said NCC Vice-Chairman Dr. Ali Riaz. He made the remarks on Monday morning at the start of the 10th day of the second phase of talks between political parties and the NCC, held at the Foreign Service Academy.

Dr. Riaz noted that progress has already been made on several key issues, while discussions continue on others. He acknowledged that disagreement persists among many parties regarding the formation of the NCC itself. “The National Consensus Commission is not imposing anything. Everyone is trying to build consensus,” he said.

He urged political parties to intensify dialogue and reach agreement swiftly to advance the state reform process.

The agenda for Monday’s meeting included proposals for expanding subordinate courts at the upazila level, frameworks for declaring a state of emergency, and enhancing women's representation in governance.
