Chittagong, June 22 (V7N) — Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman emphasized the importance of readiness in protecting the country's sovereignty while addressing new naval officers at the Navy's summer presidential parade held at the Naval Academy in Chittagong on Sunday morning.
General Waqar-uz-Zaman praised the Bangladesh Navy as a well-equipped force entrusted with the vital responsibility of securing the country’s sea lines, crucial for import and export activities. He urged the new officers to remain vigilant and always prepared to defend the nation.
During the ceremony, eight platoons of newly commissioned officers saluted the Army Chief individually to the tune of marching music. After extensive training, 44 midshipmen and eight direct entry officers were commissioned into the Navy on Sunday. The batch included eight women and several foreign naval officers.
