Dhaka, Jun 08 (V7N) – Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and Youth and Sports, has lauded the coordinated efforts of Dhaka’s city authorities in completing the massive Eid-ul-Adha cleaning operation in under 12 hours.

In a heartfelt post on his verified Facebook page, Asif Mahmud expressed profound gratitude to the more than 20,000 cleaning workers who tirelessly worked across Dhaka North and South City Corporations, calling them the “silent heroes” of Eid.

"A clean Dhaka in less than 12 hours – this is the power of work, this is the story of dedication. They are not in the campaign, but their work is the face of the city," he wrote.

The advisor noted that this swift operation is not just a mark of efficiency and effectiveness, but also a testament to the sense of responsibility shown by both local government bodies and citizens alike.

Earlier, Asif Mahmud actively participated in the cleanup operations, extending his love and gratitude to both the sanitation workers and the residents of Dhaka for their responsible behavior during the religious festivities.

He further mentioned that special meals and incentives were arranged for the cleaning staff in recognition of their service.

Reflecting on the broader message of Eid-ul-Adha, Asif Mahmud emphasized:

“On this day of sacrifice, our responsibility does not end with just the ritual. Protecting the environment is also a great act of worship. Let us all dispose of sacrificial waste in designated areas and create a clean and green environment. Clean Bangladesh is for all of us.”

The advisor concluded by noting that with the coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Local Government, city corporations, municipalities, and the people, a clean and healthy Eid celebration is possible – setting a model for urban management during religious events.
