Dhaka, June 7 (V7N) – The Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, offered the Eid-ul-Azha prayers at the National Eidgah in Dhaka this morning. He participated in the main congregation held at 7:30 am, joining thousands of worshippers from various walks of life, including members of the Advisory Council.
Following the prayers, Dr. Yunus greeted the nation, saying, “I found everyone together in the Eid congregation today. I wish everyone Eid Mubarak. Everyone will pray for the well-being of the country on this holy day.”
According to officials, nearly 35,000 devotees gathered at the National Eidgah for the solemn occasion. To ensure smooth and secure proceedings, law enforcement agencies including the police and RAB enforced strict security measures in and around the venue. Separate entry and exit gates were designated, and special arrangements were made for women devotees, with separate prayer blocks provided.
Meanwhile, as in previous years, five Eid congregations were held at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. The prayer timings were:
