Dhaka, Jun 03 (V7N) – In one of the largest judicial reshuffles in recent times, the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has transferred 252 judges across various courts in the country. The move, executed through five separate notifications issued on Monday (June 2), has been made in the public interest, according to the government.
The transfer orders were issued by the Law and Justice Division under the signature of Deputy Secretary (Administration-1) A. F. S. Golzar Rahman, acting on the orders of the President.
According to the official notice, the following judicial officers have been transferred:

30 District and Sessions Judges and officers of equivalent rank

38 Additional District and Sessions Judges and equivalent judicial officers

22 Joint District and Sessions Judges and officers of equivalent rank
-
162 Senior Assistant Judges, Assistant Judges, and officers of equivalent rank
All affected judges have been directed to assume their new posts by Tuesday (June 3) after properly handing over responsibilities to the officer designated by the respective District and Sessions Judge, Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, next senior officer, or Head of Department.
13 Judges Promoted
In a separate notification, 13 judges of the Bangladesh Judicial Service have been promoted from Senior Assistant Judge to Joint District and Sessions Judge. These promotions are in accordance with the third grade of the Bangladesh Judicial Service (Salary and Allowances) Order, 2016, with a pay scale of Tk 54,370–74,460.
These promoted judges have also been appointed or transferred to their respective new posts and instructed to immediately take charge after handing over responsibilities to the designated officer by June 3.
However, one of the promoted judges—currently on maternity leave—has been asked to join her new post after the conclusion of her leave.
Both the transfer and promotion orders have been issued “in the public interest,” as reiterated in the notifications.
