Dhaka, May 17 (V7N) — The new building of the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) in Agargaon was officially inaugurated by the interim government's Chief Advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, at 10:30 AM on Saturday (May 17).
Interestingly, although Dr. Yunus presided over the inauguration, his name was notably absent from the commemorative plaque at the venue.
The ceremony was also attended by several dignitaries including Financial Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, and Professor Helal Uddin Ahmed, Executive Director of the Microcredit Regulatory Authority.
The event marks a significant milestone for the MRA as it continues to oversee and regulate the microfinance sector, which plays a crucial role in Bangladesh’s socio-economic development.
