Dhaka, Apr 13 (V7N) – The second funeral prayer (janaza) of former Law Minister Shafiq Ahmed was held at the Supreme Court premises in Dhaka on Monday.
The funeral prayer took place at the Inner Garden of the Supreme Court, where senior judges, legal professionals, government officials, and family members attended to pay their respects.
Among those present were Supreme Court justices, Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman, Attorney General Ruhul Quddus Kajal, as well as members of the legal community and well-wishers. They offered prayers and recalled his contributions to the legal and political sectors.
Earlier, his first janaza was held at Indira Road playground in Tejgaon, Dhaka. Following the Supreme Court prayer, his body is scheduled to be taken to Shaheed Minar for public tribute before burial at Azimpur graveyard later in the day.
Shafiq Ahmed passed away on Sunday evening at a private hospital in Dhaka at the age of 90 while undergoing treatment.
