DHAKA, May 10 (V7N) – Dr. Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, who recently returned to Bangladesh after 17 years in exile, today visited the grave of her brother-in-law, the late Arafat Rahman Koko.
Accompanied by Koko’s widow, Syeda Shamila Rahman, Zubaida visited the Banani Graveyard and offered fateha prayers at the grave of Tarique Rahman’s younger brother, who passed away 10 years ago. BNP Media Cell member Atikur Rahman Rumon confirmed the visit.
Zubaida recited verses from the Holy Quran and prayed for the eternal peace of Koko’s soul.
Arafat Rahman Koko, a well-known sports organizer, died of a cardiac arrest in Malaysia on January 24, 2015, at the age of 45. His body was brought back to Bangladesh on January 27th and buried at the Banani Graveyard. At that time, Tarique and Zubaida Rahman were residing in the United Kingdom and could not return home due to legal issues.
Zubaida Rahman returned to Dhaka on May 6th from London, along with Syeda Shamila Rahman and her mother-in-law, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, ending their long period of living abroad.
The day after her return, on May 7th, Zubaida visited her father’s grave at the Banani Military Graveyard and offered prayers there.
Tarique Rahman, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and their daughter Zaima Rahman have been living in London since 2008.
