TEKNAF May 4, (V7N) — In a special operation early Monday morning, the Bangladesh Navy recovered a large cache of drugs and weapons buried underground in Teknaf’s Hnila union. Acting on secret information, naval forces raided a brick kiln in the Alikhali area and discovered 5 kilograms of crystal meth (ICE), 100,000 yaba tablets, and two foreign pistols with magazines and four live rounds.
Lieutenant Commander Shahriar confirmed the recovery, estimating the seized narcotics to be worth around Tk 30 crore. During the operation, the Navy also arrested Nurul Kabir, a fugitive accused in multiple drug and arms cases.
The seized drugs, weapons, and ammunition, along with the detainee, were handed over to Teknaf police for legal action. Officials said the Navy continues to conduct regular operations in coastal and border areas to curb drug and arms trafficking.
