Jhalokathi, Dec 09 (V7N) – Dr. Faizul Haque, the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami nominee for Jhalokathi-1 (Rajapur–Kathalia), vowed that “night voting” will no longer be allowed in the country and promised that if the party wins the next national election, it will form a government with Dr. Shafiqul Rahman at the helm.
Dr. Haque made the remarks on Monday afternoon while addressing a vibrant “Daripalla” rally organized by the Rajapur Upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islami.
He stated, “In Rajapur–Kathalia, no criminal, extortionist, corrupt tender seeker, or land grabber will receive votes. We aim to build a peaceful town where Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, farmers, laborers, students, and ordinary citizens can live together in harmony.”
Dr. Haque further emphasized the need for Jamaat-e-Islami to be empowered to safeguard national peace, establish law and order, and ensure a just society. “If Dr. Shafiqul Rahman assumes office as Prime Minister, there will be no place for crime, extortion, corruption, or oppression in Bangladesh,” he added.
Earlier, the rally commenced at the Rajapur Model Mosque premises and proceeded through the main streets of the upazila town, concluding at the Bypass intersection. A festive atmosphere was observed throughout the route as supporters gathered along the streets.
The event was attended by Jhalokathi District Secretary Md. Fariduzzaman, Workers’ Welfare Association President Saidur Rahman, Rajapur Upazila Amir Md. Kabir Hossain, Naib Amir Master Yusuf Ali, and numerous other party leaders and activists at various levels.
