Mongla, Nov 21 (V7N) – A residential house in the South Chila area of Mongla was completely destroyed by fire on Wednesday night. The fire, reportedly caused by an electrical short circuit, consumed the home of Md. Taiyebur Rahman, leaving nothing behind.
Upon receiving the news, BNP Mongla municipal president and former mayor, Md. Zulfikar Ali, who is also a prospective candidate for the Mongla-Rampal-Fakirhat parliamentary seat, visited the affected family on Thursday morning. On behalf of BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman, Zulfikar Ali provided the family with cash, clothing, rice, oil, lentils, and other essential items. He also pledged to construct a new house for the family.
Volunteers from Chila Union BNP, along with the party’s youth, student, and volunteer wings, have already begun work on building the new home and will contribute labor voluntarily.
Zulfikar Ali stated, “Upon hearing about the fire, we immediately stood by the affected family. Support has been provided on behalf of Tarique Rahman, and BNP will ensure that a new house is constructed for them.”
He was accompanied by Upazila BNP President Ab. Mannan Howlader and local party leaders during the visit.
The prompt response and reconstruction initiative aim to provide immediate relief to the family and restore their living conditions after the devastating fire.
