Khagrachari, Feb 16 (V7N) – The Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Women Headman-Karbari Conference 2025 was held on Sunday morning at the Khagrachhari Minority Ethnic Cultural Institute conference room.

The event was chaired by CHT Women Headman Network President Ms. Jaya Tripura, with Barrister Raja Debashish Roy, Chakma Chief Circle, as the main discussant. Jiruna Tripura, Chairman of Khagrachhari Hill District Council, attended as the chief guest, while Rani Ukhengching Marma of Mong Circle inaugurated the conference.

Special guests included CHT Regional Council Member Rattotpal Tripura, Khagrachhari Superintendent of Police Md. Arefin Jewel, ADC Rumana Akhter, Khagrapur Mahila Kalyan Samity Executive Director Shefalika Tripura, and Advocate Bhabatosh Dewan, Vice President of CHT Headman Association, among others.

Speakers emphasized the government's commitment to the development of the Chittagong Hill Tracts and the welfare of indigenous communities. They highlighted efforts to increase the Karbari allowance and ensure timely payments. Additionally, they called for strengthening women's rights and urged authorities to implement demands for increased financial support for women headmen and Karbari leaders.
