Savar, Feb 16 (V7N) – A female garment worker was killed after being run over by an unidentified speeding vehicle in front of Ashulia DEPZ on the Dhaka-Nabinagar-Chandra Highway on Sunday morning.

The victim, Rabeya Akhter (28), was a worker at Tigerco Limited and lived in Ashulia with her family. She hailed from Pirgachha, Rangpur. The accident occurred while she was crossing the road, after which locals rushed her to Gonoshasthaya Samaj-based Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Upon receiving information, Savar Highway Police recovered the body and handed it over to her family. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saugatul Alam confirmed that efforts are underway to identify the vehicle using CCTV footage from the area.
