Thakurgaon, Feb 15, (V7N) – The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has successfully brought back two Bangladeshi nationals who were detained for illegally crossing the border into India. The individuals were handed over to BGB by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) during a flag meeting held on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night, when the BSF detained the two individuals near Border Pillar 366/1-S in the Kadarganj camp area of India, located opposite the Betna BOP in Thakurgaon. The two detainees were identified as:
Vikash Saha (22), son of Dulal Saha, from Jogipara village, Ranishongkail, Thakurgaon and Purnanath (26), son of Madan Nath.
The BGB confirmed that the men had illegally crossed the border into India before being detained by the BSF. The authorities from both countries met to resolve the matter, after which the two individuals were safely returned to Bangladesh.
The return of the detainees through this flag meeting showcases the cooperative efforts between the BGB and BSF to manage border-related issues.
