Dhaka, Oct 17 (V7N) — Bangladesh Bank has instructed all commercial banks involved in Hajj-related activities to keep their branches and sub-branches open tomorrow, Saturday (October 18), to facilitate the smooth collection of Hajj registration deposits.

The directive was issued through an official notification on Thursday (October 16).

According to the central bank’s circular, banks must continue accepting deposits for Hajj registration as long as depositors are present at the respective branches. In addition, financial institutions have been ordered to ensure adequate security measures at all branches handling Hajj-related transactions.

The instruction has been issued under Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991, which empowers the Bangladesh Bank to regulate banking operations in special circumstances.

The move aims to ensure uninterrupted Hajj registration services and prevent delays for prospective pilgrims across the country.
