Dhaka, July 22, (V7N) – The interim government has officially acknowledged that each of the six demands made by students protesting the plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara is “reasonable.”

The announcement was made through a statement on the verified Facebook page of the interim government at 1:33 pm on Tuesday. The statement followed a meeting between student representatives and Education Advisor Professor Dr. C. R. Abrar, Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul, and Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor Shafiqul Alam on the school campus.

Speaking to reporters after the discussion, Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul said a data center has been established at Milestone School to maintain and regularly update records of the deceased, injured, and missing individuals. He also assured that measures are being taken for compensation, rehabilitation, and trauma support for the affected families.

He acknowledged the students' allegations of physical assault by army personnel during crowd control and said the matter would be communicated to army authorities for appropriate action. Additionally, the Air Force will be instructed to avoid flying training aircraft over densely populated areas, he added.

Meanwhile, Education Advisor Dr. C. R. Abrar announced that the SHC and equivalent exams scheduled for Thursday, July 24, have been postponed. New dates will be announced later, following the regular exam schedule.

The six demands raised by the students are:

  1. Disclosure of correct names and information of the deceased

  2. Publication of a complete and accurate list of the injured

  3. An unconditional public apology for the alleged assault on teachers by army personnel

  4. Compensation from the Air Force for the families of deceased students

  5. Removal of outdated, risky Air Force aircraft and introduction of modern alternatives

  6. Reform of Air Force training methods and facilities to implement safer, more humane systems

The government has stated its commitment to addressing each of these concerns in a transparent and timely manner.
