Dhaka, May 13 (V7N) – Ali Riaz, a leading figure of the National Consensus Commission, said the Commission is actively working to determine the future course of Bangladesh through structural reforms. He made the remarks during the opening session of a dialogue between the National Consensus Commission and the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) on Tuesday (May 13) at the L.D. Hall of the National Parliament Building.
“The goal of the Consensus Commission is to outline and implement fundamental structural changes necessary for the country’s progress,” Riaz said.
The dialogue began at 10 a.m., with an 11-member delegation from the CPB in attendance.
During the discussion, CPB General Secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince emphasized the urgent need for government-led reforms. “If major reforms are introduced without proper preparation, it may create a crisis for the people when it comes to participating in elections,” he warned.
The dialogue is part of a broader initiative by the Consensus Commission to engage with various political and civil society groups on the country's democratic and institutional future.
