Kyiv, Sep 28 (V7N)- Three people were killed and at least 10 others injured in a Russian drone strike in the Ukrainian capital region on Sunday, Ukrainian authorities said.
The strike hit a market in the village of Sofiivska Borshchahivka, according to the Kyiv regional prosecutor’s office. The attack also caused fires that damaged vehicles and businesses in the area.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia had launched 277 attack drones of various types against Ukraine since Saturday.
Zelenskyy said the strikes damaged civilian and government facilities in several parts of the country, including a building used as the residence of the Saudi Arabian ambassador.
In a statement on X, Zelenskyy said drone strikes in Kyiv damaged kindergartens, schools, a residential building, a car repair shop, warehouses and communication infrastructure.
He described the attacks as an attempt to cause extensive damage to civilians and Ukrainian society.
Zelenskyy also said a sports school in Dnipro and a children's home in the Sumy region were damaged in the attacks.
He added that Russia was aware of the diplomatic signals the international community wanted to hear and accused Moscow of using them to delay tougher international measures over the war.
