San Juan, July 30 (V7N)- At least seven people were killed after a helicopter crashed in Argentina's San Juan province, according to Xinhua.

The Bell 412 helicopter lost contact with the control room at around 10:30 a.m. local time before crashing.

The aircraft was en route to assist in firefighting operations in neighboring La Rioja province after completing a training mission in San Juan. Authorities later dispatched another helicopter to locate the wreckage.

San Juan Governor confirmed that all seven people on board were killed in the crash.

Among the victims were the province's director of civil defense, the head of the fire service, and the deputy chief of police.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
