Washington, July 27 (V7N)- US President Donald Trump has rejected claims that the suspension of military operations against Iran was caused by a shortage of ammunition.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal on Sunday (July 26), Trump said the decision to pause the operation after 13 consecutive days of air strikes on Iran was not related to any shortage of weapons or ammunition.
"There is no truth behind such claims. We have more ammunition than any country in the world. We have more than we need in stock," Trump said.
His remarks came after reports emerged that the United States had used a significant amount of precision-guided missiles and other advanced weapons during recent military operations, raising questions over whether US weapon reserves had been affected.
However, Trump dismissed concerns over American military capabilities, saying the country’s defense resources remain sufficient.
He also rejected the suggestion that the decision to suspend operations against Iran was taken because of depleted weapons supplies, saying there was no connection between the two issues.
