New Delhi, Jul 23 (V7N)- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured students that strict action will be taken against those involved in examination paper leaks amid growing protests across the country over alleged irregularities in the education system.
The assurance came in a message posted on X on Thursday (July 23), according to a report by NDTV.
In his statement, Modi said the future of young people remains a top priority for his government.
“Nothing is more important than our youth and our future. The government has decided to establish fast-track courts to handle question paper leak cases. I have instructed the relevant authorities and officials to take all necessary measures. Those who attempt to destroy the future of our youth will not be spared,” the Prime Minister wrote.
However, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi quickly responded to Modi’s remarks, accusing the government of failing to protect the country’s education system.
In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi alleged that Prime Minister Modi had caused the greatest damage to the future of India’s youth.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done the most damage to the future of our youth. His government has allowed the complete deterioration of the education system and has protected those responsible for it,” Rahul said.
The exchange comes amid ongoing demonstrations led by the youth-based Cockroach Janata Party, which has been demanding reforms in India’s education sector and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged question paper leaks.
The movement intensified on Tuesday, with several media outlets carrying reports and images showing clashes between protesters and police during demonstrations in different parts of the country.
The issue has sparked a nationwide debate on examination security, accountability and education reforms, with both the government and opposition exchanging blame over the controversy.
