Zurich, Jun 21 (V7N) – High-level delegations from the United States and Iran are scheduled to meet in Switzerland on Sunday (June 21) for negotiations aimed at reaching a permanent settlement to the long-running Middle East conflict and signing a final peace agreement.
According to the information provided, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has departed Washington to attend the high-level meeting, while the Iranian delegation, led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has already arrived in Zurich.
The technical and political discussions are expected to take place at the Bürgenstock Resort near Lausanne under the direct mediation of Qatar and Pakistan.
The talks will reportedly be based on a 14-point draft memorandum of understanding signed between Washington and Tehran on Wednesday (June 17). The proposed roadmap for the next 60 days is intended to establish a permanent ceasefire and lay the foundation for a long-term regional peace agreement.
The U.S. delegation will be headed by Vice President J.D. Vance. President Donald Trump's special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are also expected to participate in the negotiations.
Representing Iran, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf will lead the delegation, accompanied by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati.
The meeting is being viewed as a significant diplomatic effort to reduce tensions in the Middle East and explore a framework for lasting regional stability.
