Washington, Apr 30 (V7N) — Vladimir Putin has offered to assist the United States in addressing concerns over Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles, amid ongoing tensions linked to the conflict.
The proposal was made during a phone conversation between Putin and US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, which lasted approximately 90 minutes.
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump confirmed that the Russian leader expressed interest in helping resolve issues related to Iran’s uranium reserves and enrichment activities. However, Trump said he responded by urging Putin to first resolve Russia’s own ongoing conflict.
“Putin wants to help,” Trump said, adding, “but I told him, before you help me, you have to end your own war.”
According to Trump, Putin also indicated Russia’s willingness to be involved in processes related to uranium enrichment, suggesting Moscow could play a role in facilitating a solution.
Earlier, Trump described his conversation with Putin as “very productive” and expressed optimism about the possibility of progress in resolving the Ukraine conflict.
The development highlights Russia’s attempt to position itself as a diplomatic intermediary, even as broader geopolitical tensions continue to shape relations among major global powers.
