Dhaka, Mar 21 (V7N) – After a month of fasting, Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with religious fervor across several Asian countries, including India, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Devotees participated in congregational prayers, exchanged greetings, and prayed for world peace.
In India, the main Eid congregation was held on Red Road in Kolkata, West Bengal, on Saturday morning. After offering prayers, devotees shared the joy of Eid by hugging and exchanging greetings. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attended the congregation and greeted worshippers.
In Pakistan, Eid was observed in a solemn religious atmosphere despite ongoing tensions with neighboring Afghanistan. Devotees across the country offered prayers for peace and the well-being of all.
In Malaysia, Eid congregations were held with great enthusiasm, with a major gathering at Masjid Al Bukhari in the capital Kuala Lumpur. Special prayers were offered for the unity and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Meanwhile, in Indonesia, thousands of worshippers gathered at the Pakansari Stadium in Sibinong, a suburb of Jakarta, to perform Eid prayers in congregation.
Across the continent, the joyous celebrations were accompanied by a shared hope: that peace may prevail worldwide and the sacred message of Eid brings harmony and goodwill to all communities.
