New Delhi, Dec 06 (V7N) — India has announced the introduction of a 30-day free tourist visa for Russian citizens. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the announcement at a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin following their bilateral meeting in Hyderabad, New Delhi on Friday.
According to NDTV News, Prime Minister Modi said that India will introduce a 30-day free e-tourist visa as well as a 30-day group tourist visa for Russian nationals.
Modi said the initiative would not only strengthen people-to-people connections between the two countries but also create new energy and opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an “uninterrupted” supply of fuel oil to India. He said Russia remains a reliable supplier of oil, gas, coal and other resources essential for India’s energy development.
It is worth noting that President Putin arrived in New Delhi on Thursday (December 4) evening local time for a two-day official visit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi received him at Palam Airport. Putin is expected to depart India around 9 pm on Friday.
