Gaza, Oct 30 (V7N)- After two years of closure amid the devastating Israeli invasion, Al-Azhar University in Gaza has reopened its doors, marking a significant step toward the restoration of education and normalcy in the war-torn region.

Students have begun returning to the campus, striving to forget the horrors of war and rebuild their dreams of a new semester — and a new life.

Before the Israeli invasion, Gaza had 51 universities and colleges serving over 200,000 students. However, most educational institutions have been reduced to rubble by relentless Israeli bombings.

Despite the widespread destruction, Palestinians are making efforts to revive the few surviving institutions, seeing education as a symbol of resilience and hope for Gaza’s future.
