Washington, Oct 03 (V7N) – Former US President Donald Trump has claimed that he can end what he described as a “3,000-year-old conflict” in the Middle East, suggesting peace could be achieved through a resolution to the ongoing Israel-Gaza war, according to a report by Middle East Eye.

In a televised interview on Thursday, Trump said:
“It looks like the Middle East problem can be solved after about 3,000 years. We are going to bring peace not just to Gaza, but to the Middle East as a whole. That would be an incredible achievement.”

However, historians and observers have questioned the historical accuracy of his remarks. Israel was formally established in 1948 following the partition of British Mandate Palestine. Critics argue that while conflicts in the region date back centuries, the current Israeli-Palestinian crisis is far more recent than Trump’s claim of “3,000 years.”

Meanwhile, the Gaza Health Authority reports that so far, about 66,200 Palestinians have been killed and around 170,000 injured in the conflict, underscoring the devastating human toll of the ongoing war.
