New York, Aug 01 (V7N) – Continuous heavy rain has triggered flash flooding across several parts of the United States, including New York City. Eyewitness videos circulated on Thursday showed severe flooding on the city’s streets, with many vehicles stranded in waterlogged roads.

Floodwaters have also inundated multiple subway platforms and entered train cars, causing significant delays in train services throughout the city.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted flash floods with rainfall accumulating up to 7 inches in affected areas. In response, authorities have issued warnings and emergency measures.

The New Jersey administration declared a state of emergency starting from 2 pm local time on Thursday. Officials in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania are closely monitoring the situation and preparing to respond to any potential hazards caused by the flooding.
