Tehran, June 23 (V7N) – The Israeli military has claimed responsibility for extensive airstrikes targeting at least six airports across western, eastern, and central Iran. The announcement was made through an official statement posted on Israel’s Hebrew-language social media account on Xe (formerly Twitter).
According to the statement, Israeli forces destroyed 15 Iranian warplanes and helicopters using remote-controlled drones. The targeted locations, shown in images attached to the post, include Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport, Mashhad Airport, and the Dezful Airbase.
The strikes reportedly damaged runways, underground bunkers, a fuel-laden refueling plane, and Iranian fighter jets including F-14s, F-5s, and AH-1 helicopters. The Israeli military emphasized that the operation disrupted take-offs from Iranian military airbases and impaired the effectiveness of Iran’s air force.
As of now, there has been no official response from Iran regarding the reported airstrikes.
