New York, Sep 24 (V7N)- YouTube has unveiled a new range of artificial intelligence-powered tools, shopping features and personalized options aimed at improving the experience for both content creators and viewers.
The new features were announced Wednesday at YouTube's annual “Made on YouTube” event in New York City.
Among the updates are new creator tools in YouTube Studio, including features that can provide feedback on video drafts, generate thumbnails matching a channel's style and allow creators to test up to three different versions of a video.
YouTube is also integrating a Gemini-powered assistant into Shorts and YouTube Create. The assistant will help creators with editing tasks such as trimming clips, removing unnecessary pauses and synchronizing video content with music.
The platform is additionally testing an opt-in AI system for moderating comments. The feature is designed to operate according to individual creators' preferences and moderation needs.
YouTube also announced new tools using voice and facial recognition technologies to help protect creators' likenesses and provide additional safeguards for their content.
On the shopping front, YouTube plans to expand its Shopping affiliate program to 35 countries by the end of the year. More than 1.3 million creators have already joined the program, according to the company.
Creators in India and Brazil will soon be able to tag Amazon products in their videos. Viewers in different markets will also receive locally relevant offers when tagged products are available in their countries.
YouTube is further introducing custom feeds for users in the United States across web, mobile and TV platforms. The feature will allow users to customize homepage tabs according to their interests, including categories such as documentaries or DIY content.
The company is also expanding the capabilities of its “Ask YouTube” feature. Users will be able to ask shopping-related questions, continue searches through follow-up queries and view product comparison tables. Voice-command functionality is also being added for TV users.
The latest updates reflect YouTube's broader push to integrate AI into video creation, content discovery, moderation and shopping while giving users more control over how they interact with the platform.
