DHAKA, July 14, (v7n) – Four college teachers who served as moderators for the question paper of the ongoing Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Physics (Theory) First Paper examination have been served with show-cause notices over alleged errors and inconsistencies in the paper.
The teachers are: Prof Md Mujibur Rahman (Sreemangal Government College), Asst. Prof. Kazi Junayed Al Amin (Brindaban Government College, Habiganj), Asst. Prof. Mochaddek Hossain Khan (Sylhet MC College), and Lecturer Mohammad Helal Uddin (Sylhet Government Model School and College), according to a letter issued by the Sylhet Education Board today.
The show-cause notices stated that errors and inconsistencies were detected in questions No. 6 and 7 of the creative section of the Physics (Theory) First Paper examination held on July 13 morning, causing examinees to face severe mental stress in the examination halls. The notices described the lapses as an act of gross irresponsibility and professional negligence on the part of the responsible teachers and moderators, adding that the incident had tarnished the image of the Sylhet Education Board.
The teachers have been asked to submit written explanations within three working days of receiving the notices, stating why departmental action should not be taken against them for the serious errors and inconsistencies in moderating the question paper.
