APR 21 (V7N) - The first day of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations concluded today in a fair and positive environment, with no reports of cheating. Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon expressed satisfaction with the performance of education officials, the field administration, and the overall management of the exams by the education boards.

The exams, which were held from 10 am to 1 pm, saw candidates sitting for Bangla (Compulsory) First Paper under the general education boards, Quran Majeed and Tajweed under the madrasa boards, and Bangla Second Paper under the technical boards.

Minister Milon conducted surprise visits to five examination centers in Mirpur, Dhaka, and Singair, Manikganj, where he inspected the security and overall conduct of the exams. The centers visited included Tentuljhora High School, Joymantop High School, and Sahrail High School in Singair, as well as Mirpur Mofid-e-Am School in Amin Bazar and Model Academy Centre in Paikpara, Dhaka.

After the inspections, the Education Minister commended the cooperation between district administrations, police, education field authorities, and local communities. “In today’s examination, all relevant parties have fully cooperated,” he told reporters.

This year, a total of 1,857,344 candidates are participating in the exams across 11 education boards. Of these, 930,305 are male, and 927,039 are female.

First, CCTV cameras have been installed at all exam centers to ensure a secure, cheating-free environment. Additionally, the education boards have implemented several modern security measures, including digital tracking of question paper transportation, to maintain the integrity of the exams.
