Dhaka, Sep 10 (V7N) – The much-anticipated Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections witnessed a strong voter turnout, with 78.33 percent of students casting their ballots, according to official DUCSU sources.

The highest turnout came from Surya Sen Hall, where 88 percent of students voted. Close behind were Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall (87%), Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall (84.56%), Haji Muhammad Muhsin Hall (83.37%), and Amar Ekushey Hall (83.30%).

Other male residential halls also saw significant participation:

  • Jagannath Hall – 82.44%

  • Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall – 75%

  • Sir A.F. Rahman Hall – 82.50%

  • Kabi Jasim Uddin Hall – 86%

  • Bijoy Ekattor Hall – 85.02%

  • Salimullah Muslim Hall – 83%

Among the female residential halls, turnout was comparatively lower but still notable:

  • Rokeya Hall – 65.50%

  • Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall – 64%

  • Shamsun Nahar Hall – 63.67%

  • Bangladesh-Kuwait Friendship Hall – 68.39%

  • Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall – 67.08%

Despite hall-wise variations, the overall participation level reflects a highly engaged student body in one of the most important student union elections in the country.
