Dhaka, Sep 09 (V7N) – The Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections concluded on Tuesday in a festive and largely peaceful atmosphere.

Voting began at 8 am and continued until 4 pm, with all eight polling centers operating for 8 hours. Reports indicate that there were no clashes or major incidents during the elections.

According to DU Vice-Chancellor Niaz Ahmed, by around 3 pm, more than 70 percent of voters had cast their ballots. The final total number of votes cast is yet to be announced.

This year, 39,874 students were eligible to vote, with 471 candidates contesting 28 DUCSU posts. In addition, the Hall Parliament elections featured 13 posts in each hall, totaling 234 posts across 18 halls, with 1,035 candidates competing.

The peaceful conduct of the elections was widely appreciated by students and university authorities, marking a successful conclusion to the university’s democratic process.
