Dhaka, Sep 09 (V7N) – Umama Fatema, the Vice President (VP) candidate from the Independent Students' Unity Panel in the ongoing DUCSU elections, has expressed hope for a fair and peaceful election, emphasizing that her panel is participating with a positive mindset.

Speaking to reporters in front of the Udayan School and College center around 10:30 am on Tuesday, Umama said, “We want a fair election here. We are not moving forward with any negative mindset so far. We are not in a position to reject the results. Rather, we want the election to be conducted properly and the results to come accordingly.”

She noted that voter turnout has been encouraging, especially among female and non-resident students. “We thought the attendance of girls and non-resident students would be less, but the students are voting with interest. I am optimistic about winning,” she added.

When asked which hall she expects to secure the most support from, Umama declined to specify, saying that the count had not yet been received.

Commenting on the overall environment, the VP candidate said, “The situation is good so far. Everyone is coming and voting. We want the voting to continue smoothly like this.”
