Dhaka, June 17 (V7N) — In light of the increasing number of coronavirus and dengue cases across the country, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has issued urgent instructions to ensure strict hygiene practices during the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations.

The directive was issued on Monday (June 16) by Professor Dr. Khandokar Ehsanul Kabir, Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and President of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.

Key Instructions for Examination Centers:

  • Mandatory Mask Use: All individuals, including students and staff, must wear masks while entering the examination centers.

  • Hand Sanitizer Availability: Hand sanitizers must be kept at the entrances of all examination centers.

  • Dengue Prevention Measures: Cleanliness must be maintained inside and around the examination venues. Mosquito repellent sprays should be applied before the start of each exam session, with cooperation sought from the local administration.

  • Seating Arrangements: The seating of candidates must be done following the official guidelines of the respective education boards.

  • Medical Support: Each examination center must have an active medical team on standby, with regular communication maintained with the respective Civil Surgeon or Upazila Health and Family Planning Officers.

  • Awareness Campaigns: Awareness campaigns should be conducted in collaboration with local authorities to encourage adherence to hygiene protocols and to prevent large gatherings of parents in front of exam centers.

Additionally, students and teachers have been urged to strictly follow the health guidelines, and examinees have been reminded to use only approved model calculators to maintain fairness in the examination process.

According to the official schedule, this year’s HSC and equivalent examinations will begin on June 26 and continue until August 10, with practical exams scheduled for August 11 to 21.
