Dhaka, May 01 (V7N) – Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan has stated that 40 percent of DU’s teachers meet international standards, despite significant limitations in research infrastructure. He believes that with proper support, many more faculty members can reach that level.
He made these remarks while addressing a seminar titled "Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development" at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building on Wednesday.
According to a press release from DU's Public Relations Department, Dr. Khan acknowledged the university’s resource constraints but highlighted its continued prominence in education and research both nationally and internationally.
Speaking to students, the VC emphasized the role of universities as social institutions, urging students to develop themselves not just for personal gain, but for the country and society. He encouraged them to take full advantage of the opportunities available at DU.
