Jamalpur, May 27 (V7N)- More than 1,000 worshippers from around 20 villages in Islampur, Sarishabari and Madarganj upazilas of Jamalpur observed Eid-ul-Azha on Wednesday (May 27), following the timing of Saudi Arabia.
The main Eid congregation was held at 9:00 am in the Rambhadra area of Islampur upazila. After the prayers, devotees performed animal sacrifice in accordance with Eid traditions.
Local sources said Eid prayers were also held across several villages, including Rayerpara, West Noarpara, West Mandalpara, North Sapdhari, South Sapdhari, Balardia, Bausi, Satpoa, Panchpir, Sancharpar, Pakhadubi, Bongram, Balia, Hosnabad, Patabuga, Puthiarpar, Bogarpar, Kamarpara and Kumarpur areas.
Maulana Hafez Altafur Rahman said the congregation was held peacefully and in an organized manner.
He added that the community has been observing Ramadan and Eid in line with Saudi Arabia for a long time, and all necessary arrangements were made to ensure a smooth and safe gathering for worshippers.
