Rajshahi, Aug 17 (V7N) – Police have filed a case following the recovery of illegal weapons and explosives from a coaching center named ‘Doctor’s English’ in Kadirganj, Rajshahi. The owner, Muntaserul Alam Anindya, along with two associates, have been named as accused.

The case was filed on Saturday night (August 16) by Sub-Inspector Rezaul Karim of Boalia Police Station under the Arms, Explosives and Narcotics Control Act. The three accused are scheduled to be produced in court today, with police seeking 7-day remand for each.

The raid, conducted by joint forces, uncovered the weapons and explosives at the coaching center. Police stated that Anindya has previous arrest records as a close associate of Shariful, convicted in the Holly Artisan attack and the Professor Rezaul murder cases.

Anindya is reportedly related to prominent political figures: he is the cousin of Awami League presidium member and former Rajshahi mayor Khairuzzaman Liton, while his father is a former vice-president of the metropolitan BNP.

Authorities are investigating further to determine the source of the weapons and explosives and the purpose behind their possession.
