Dhaka, Sep 17 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour in four districts by Thursday evening.
According to a weather warning issued for the country's inland river ports, the conditions may persist until 6:00pm on Thursday.
The warning said rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds from the south or southeast at speeds of 45 to 60 km/h, may occur in Tangail, Mymensingh, Cumilla and Sylhet.
In view of the forecast, river ports in these areas have been advised to hoist Warning Signal No. 1 from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
Authorities have urged people, particularly those travelling by river, to remain cautious during the period as strong winds and thunderstorms may create hazardous conditions.
