Dhaka, Sep 16 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds of up to 60 kilometres per hour in four regions of the country.
The forecast for inland river ports is valid until 6:00 pm on Wednesday (September 16). River ports in the affected areas have been advised to hoist Warning Signal No. 1.
According to the forecast, rain or thundershowers may occur in the Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Sylhet regions, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds from the south or southeast at speeds of 45 to 60 kmph.
The Meteorological Department has advised river ports in these areas to display Warning Signal No. 1.
Meanwhile, another forecast issued by the department said rain may occur at many places across the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions during the 24 hours from 6:00 pm Wednesday.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may also occur at one or two places in the Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions during the period.
However, day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
In the previous 24 hours, the highest rainfall in the country was recorded in Bandarban at 42 millimetres.
Feni recorded the highest temperature at 37.5 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature was recorded in Bandarban at 24 degrees Celsius.
