Dhaka, May 10 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning forecasting strong winds, rain, and thunderstorms across several parts of the country, affecting 14 districts under seven divisions.
According to the inland river ports forecast valid until 6:00pm on Sunday, a storm may blow from the west or northwest at speeds of 45–60 kilometers per hour, accompanied by temporary rain or thundershowers.
The affected regions include Rangpur, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised river ports in these areas to hoist cautionary signal number 1, warning of rough weather conditions that may disrupt river navigation and local transport.
Officials said temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the country during this period.
In the past 24 hours, the highest temperature was recorded at 37.2°C in Rangamati, while the lowest temperature of 20.2°C was recorded in Saidpur. Dinajpur recorded the highest rainfall, measuring 26 millimeters.
Authorities have urged residents, especially those in coastal and riverine areas, to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions.
